We have been working hard on our letters, letter sounds, and even CVC words! One group is enjoying a game of Jumping Beans, where they have to physically jump to a specific letter and then repeat that letter. Another group is working hard on forming the correct letter formation in salt. The independent group is building fine motor strength by rolling play dough into letters and then correctly identifying those letters and the sounds. We've also been taking the play dough stampers to spell our friend's names and even some pet words! One group has even started working on CVC (constant, vowel, constant) words! They have been pushing up the sounds in each word to isolate each sound they hear! Learning is so much fun!
We had a great time on Valentine's Day with a heart relay race, measuring with heart rulers, along with making a special Valentine's craft. We especially enjoyed passing out our Valentine's and sneaking a taste of them! Yummy!
With the cold temps, going outside can be difficult, so when there is a day that the gym is empty we take full advantage of it. We played a fun game of Chase You to the Stars where Ms. Frana says color and if you are wearing that color you have to run across the gym and try to not get tagged by her! Then the kids decided Duck, Duck, Goose would also be fun as well! Needless to say, Ms. Frana was exhausted!
